A hearing impairment happens when you experience a problem with one or more parts of your ear/s.  You can hear certain sounds but sometimes nothing at all.  This occurs gradually and rarely ends in complete deafness, that is why it is better that the early stage this impairment should be given treatment.   One of the recommended treatments to hearing impairment is the use of a hearing aid. A hearing aid can help the wearer hear sounds naturally.  Hearing Aids come in different styles and types to meet the need of the people in need.

Hearing Aids come in different sizes.  Whatever the size, type or style needs hearing aid batteries to have it performed its job.  Hearing Aid batteries, since they are vital for the use of the hearing aid, should be used properly and taken cared.  Standard Hearing Aid batteries last for 5 to 14 days depending on the type of the hearing aid, its capacity and how much the hearing aid is used.   However if you are a wearer of a hearing aid you will always desire that your hearing aid batteries can last longer for obvious reasons.  That is why, when you buy hearing aid batteries be sure you have chosen the best brand.  Hearing aid batteries that are of good quality should be purchased.  The performance of your hearing batteries counts. So if you buy, be sure that the seal of the hearing aid batteries is not broken, because when it has been opened it might have started to discharge. Hearing aid batteries are “zinc-air”.  Meaning the batteries is air activated.  A seal when they get out of the factory keeps them “inactive” until you remove that seal.  Once the seal is removed from the back of the battery, the oxygen in the air contact5s the zinc within the battery and the battery is turned on. Be wise in choosing your hearing batteries to also protect your hearing aid.

In order for your hearing batteries to last long, you should leave the battery compartment open at night when not in use.  Be sure that moisture can escape and cannot corrode the battery nor damage your hearing aid.  In changing your hearing aid batteries, see to it that your hands are free from grease. Any dirt in the battery can damage your hearing aid. Do not store your hearing aid batteries in a very cool place nor very hot area.  A very hot climate may drain the power of the battery and therefore shorten the life span.  Your hearing aid batteries are as important as your hearing aid because without h=them your hearing aid will not serve its purpose.
