Selecting the right hearing aid to use
There is no doubt that the loss for the sense of hearing causes potential disadvantages to the affected person. These are the kind of hearing aids which placed in a little case which suits either partly or entirely the user’s ear canal. We also have the in-the-ear hearing aids. This aid is fully placed in a certain shell which occupies the outer portion of the ear. It can be handled easier since it is larger than those of the canal aids.
Behind-the-ear hearing aids are also available. They are placed in a little plastic case which rests right behind the patient’s ear. Its case is linked to a so called earmold through a clear tubing piece. This kind of hearing aid is often recommended among young patients for growth and safety purposes.
You may also find hearing aids with earpieces more suitable since they have the characteristic to direct the sound flow into the human ear and improve the quality of the sound. However, you may not have the option to decide which hearing aid to use. Your audiologist determines the right kind of hearing aid. He shall be basing his recommendation on your lifestyle, hearing loss type, and the listening requirements.
